ST3: Carlos Moreno and the “15-minute city”

From Bilbao Metropoli-30 we launched the ST3 initiative (Strategic Trends Think Tank), in which we aim to invite international personalities to bring the most avant-garde and innovative thinking about the future of urban environments to our metropolis.

We inaugurated this initiative on Monday, November 29, with Carlos Moreno, professor at the Sorbonne, promoter of the concept of  the “15-minute city” and advisor to Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris and candidate for the French presidential elections.

  • Presentation of “The 15-minute city” by Carlos Moreno
From 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the CRAI of the University of Deusto.
During Carlos Moreno’s presentation, the public had the opportunity to submit queries or concerns related to the subject, which were resolved in an interesting and entertaining debate after his presentation.
  • Meeting between the mayors of Metropolitan Bilbao and Carlos Moreno
From 12:00 to 13:00 at the BEC Convention Center.
This meeting offered the opportunity to know first-hand the concept of the “15-minute city”, as well as to be able to debate closely and directly with its creator about the opportunities to develop urban planning on a human scale in our metropolis.

More information (CV, article and video about the 15-minute city).

Due to the great interest aroused and the limitations of the capacity of the room, the keynote lecture given by Professor Carlos Moreno from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., was broadcast via streaming.
