Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group

The Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group is a multidisciplinary organisation made up of delegates from both the public and private sectors with an interest in forwarding their particular view of tourism to help reinforce Bilbao-Bizkaia as a holiday destination. Its first meeting was on 7 April 2016.

The Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group plays an advisory role in the development of schemes or areas of action introduced by the directorate for tourism and the promotion of the Basque Country abroad – Dirección de Promoción Exterior y Turismo – through its outlook strategy for 2020. In addition to public agents in the tourist sector it involves delegates from industry, who are able to bring to the table their specific knowledge and experience regarding the different projects.

The Bilbao Metropoli-30 Association is one of the member organisations of the Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group.

A meeting has been held on 3 May 2018 at Beaz between the Tourist Industry group and the Gourmet Tourism section of the Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group.

The Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group meets in June to discuss the progress made by the working parties, as well as the steps taken in the Tourism Strategy 2020 in Bilbao-Bizkaia.

On 11 October there is a meeting of the Marketing Tourism working group. On 12 December the Tourist Industry group meets.

On 19 December there is a ordinary meeting of the Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group to discuss the principal results of the projects in 2018 and the forecast for Bilbao-Bizkaia in the year 2019.

On 9 October, 2019, a BBAG meeting is held with the aim of advancing and defining aspects and actions to be undertaken in 2020 under public-private cooperation.

On November 16, 2020, the BBAG Technical Secretariat meets to analyze the behavior of the tourism sector in relation to the impact of the pandemic and to share reflections on the actions to be implemented.

In 2021 the BBAG meets on February 11 and 23 and September 23.

On December 15, at the BBAG meeting, the Bilbao-Bizkaia Tourism Strategy 2030 was presented.
