Course “City planning and management” at Deusto University

From 20 June to 1 July 2016, Deusto University, in partnership with Bilbao Metropoli-30 and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, hosts a course called “City planning and management. Rethinking the city: instruments and public policies for urban governance”.

This course constitutes a clarion call for political innovation, a model of democratic governance, and a collaborative leadership style. An analysis is made of political strategies and instruments for a sustainable urban future, highlighting a conceptual framework that encompasses concepts such as sustainability, a territorial-urban outlook, as well as of the city-region relationship, the strategic planning of cities, the strategic implementation of public policies, governance, citizenship, and participation.
